My daughter began Suzuki violin lessons at age 5 and has been working with Janice for over 10 years. Janice uses the Suzuki Method to help break down the impossible, making it accessible for any student.
As for results...I have never
heard one of Janice’s students play the classic squeaky violin. In fact, you can spot Janice’s student in a large group of players, because
their form is so beautiful.
The group classes and twice-yearly recitals provide motivation, showcase the fruits of the student's labor, and provide an enjoyable venue to gather as a studio community.
Solo recitals have brought my daughter’s playing to the next level, requiring her to memorize and polish each piece. I don’t know of any other teachers that offer
this incredible experience
to their students.
The focus and dedication
required to play violin has helped my daughter to develop discipline and an ability to persevere and has cultivated a love and deep understanding of music.

I wanted my 5-year old daughter to learn the Suzuki Method of violin about 8 months ago. Janice has been excellent at helping her understand the form and technique that is needed for proper bow holding and left-hand setup. I had trouble communicating this effectively to her and Janice has helped me use appropriate language and incentives such as games to help her learn.
She is now progressing well and is exceeding our expectations. The Studio offers ways for peers to connect through an effective monthly group lesson.

When I began piano lessons with Janice four months ago, little did I imagine that within such a short period of time, she would help me attain such a level of proficiency. At the outset, I shared with her the classical pieces I aspired to be able to play - pieces which I was convinced would take years of rigorous training to be able to approach. Her disciplined instruction methodology has enabled me to progress at a pace well beyond what I expected and has brought those pieces well within reach. Her depth of understanding of how to teach is remarkable - everything from proper biomechanics to techniques that enable rapid assimilation and learning. Janice is everything one could ask for in a teacher. Thanks to her, my life has been enriched with a skill I had always dreamt of developing.

Ms. Janice is a highly experienced teacher, but also because she instills a good work ethic in music or art skill training, which could be of life-long benefit for our daughter.
Every time we leaver her class, I feel my daughter has learned so much. Ms .Janice exemplifies what a fine art artist is like. She is strict, fun and loving. My daughter loves Ms. Janice and she is motivated to work hard.

As an adult student at
The Violin & Piano Studio, I have absolutely enjoyed every lesson! Although learning to play the violin is challenging, I am proud to say that because of Ms. Mauroschadt’s expertise and detail-oriented teaching methods, I have been able to attain a level of skill and proficiency on the violin that I wasn’t aware I could ever achieve so quickly. I am very appreciative of how each lesson increasingly sharpens my self-discipline, mental focus and coordination — skills which are valuable to adults
and children alike.
I instantly fell in love with violin
and how it has enriched my life over the past year and a half. Although
I may move out of state, I am committed to continuing lessons with Ms. Mauroschadt.

Our daughters began piano and violin lessons with Ms. Mauroschadt in January of 2020 and our expectations were simply that they would learn how to play their respective instruments and develop a love for the arts.
In three months, Ms. Mauroschadt has wildly exceeded those expectations! I was immediately impressed with Ms. Mauroschadt's skillful use of the Suzuki Method and her ability to provide our girls with some insight in regard to the inner grounding necessary to enjoy the overall learning process. Both girls have been progressing rapidly, but much more importantly, and unexpectedly, they have learned valuable lessons in character development and life skills—particularly courage to face failure, and resolve to proceed time and again, until they experienced success. They have also learned patience, commitment, discipline and humility while embracing the work involved in making practice successful and have surprisingly encountered the joy that follows after success is attained.
As a proud parent, I am hopeful that they will develop their musical abilities as far as they are able. But I am more grateful that the moral skills they have learned will better prepare them to face life’s future challenges.

My daughter had really wanted to learn how to play the violin, and Ms. Mauroschadt’s teaching has enabled her to be successful so that she can now truly enjoy what she had so been looking forward to. Ms. Mauroschadt is very diligent about pinpointing necessary details to work on, effectively teaching students these skills, and encouraging students to take responsibility to incorporate and work on what they’ve been taught. Her teaching style makes all the difference between producing students who just know how to play the violin (or piano) and students who are able to play well. We are also thankful that Ms. Mauroschadt’s seeking to instill good character in her students reinforces what we teach our daughter as parents, and so it has benefit beyond music lessons. In addition, Ms. Mauroschadt takes seriously understanding who her students are as people so that they feel cared for and so that the teacher-student relationship functions as productively as possible. We are grateful for the opportunity to be taking violin lessons with Ms. Mauroschadt.

My son studies classical
drawing with Ms. Mauroschadt. From the preschool age our son
has had an interest in art and has
noticed beauty in many forms, including nature, paintings -- even clothing patterns. He expressed a desire to improve his drawing, and through one of Ms. Mauroschadt's other drawing students, we were fortunate to find her.
Working with Ms. Mauroschadt
has been rigorous and based in the classic techniques in drawing. She provides a solid foundation for him to have the tools to bring accuracy and realism into his drawing. Her guidance stresses discipline, patience and dedication to learn fine drawing skills. He holds a greater appreciation for the work involved in honing a skill and then using that skill to create his vision.
If you are seeking an accomplished fine artist-educator to build discipline and provide a solid technical foundation for your child in drawing, Ms. Mauroschadt provides that in spades!
